The Vermilion Curling Club hosted their 4th Annual Curloween on October 29, as a start to their season.
Twelve teams entered the fun event all dressed in festive Halloween costumes. Throughout the evening, participants enjoyed appetizers donated by Anthony’s Grill, and door prizes were handed out.

“I enjoy coming and having an excuse to dress up for Halloween,” said Tina Hollen.
“Everyone is laid back, and the event is a lot of fun,” said Jennifer Howard.
Regular members offered assistance to those new to the sport. The Club President went on to say that they are excited to start a new season and to have Bar Manager Nicole Mytrunek returning, and Ice Maker Rick McKenzie.
He thinks Vermilion has the best ice between Saskatoon and Edmonton!

Placing 3rd in the bonspiel along with being selected for Best Costume was the squirrel team, and placing 2nd was the Hawaiian team. First place winners were the Forever 27 Club.

Wikipedia states that Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison all died at the age of 27, from 1969 - 1971. Some comments were made, but it was not until 1994, after the death of Kurt Cobain, that the idea of a "Forever 27 Club" began to recognize Rock stars that had all passed on at the same age. In 2011, Amy Winehouse revived the folklore when she too died at the age of 27.
