Dignitaries and customers gathered at Uniquely U Styles in Vermilion to celebrate their Grand Opening on September 27. Deputy Mayor, Clint McCullough said, “Congratulations! It looks awesome; I love the exposed brick.” Owner, Rita Elliott, was presented a plaque for participating in the New Commercial Retail Development Incentive Program. “Business developments like this are increasing our retail footprint downtown. As a result, communities have contacted me saying that the program should be modelled across the province,” said Mary Lee Prior, Economic Development Coordinator. Elliott was very thankful for the support and said, “We had to have the group we had to make it work. We couldn’t have done it without them. The community has been amazing. Every day someone tells me how happy they are that we did this.” Uniquely U Styles took ownership on December 1, opened ladies wear in another portion of the Craig’s Cornerstone building on February 1, and opened in their new location on July 27. Customers enjoyed seeing the new setup, browsing their selection, and sampling homemade pies for the special occasion. “We’re looking forward to continuing to serve the community and seeing all of our customers from near and far in the future,” said Elliott.
