Heartland Insurance welcomed dignitaries, colleagues, and customers during their Grand Opening in Vermilion on November 5. Owner, Lynn Filgate, has been working with insurance for the past 21 years, and is thrilled to be offering general, home, auto, commercial, farm, and specialty insurance services to the community. She also noted that they will expand to offer corporate registries in the future. “I’m happy to be back; I love insurance, and above all, customer service is huge to me. With insurance companies, everyone brings something different to the table, and you never know unless you ask. I encourage people to shop around and make an informed decision,” said Filgate. Her associate from Stettler, Tyler Phillips, was in also in attendance along with representatives from the Town of Vermilion and Chamber of Commerce. Deputy Mayor, Justin Thompson attended and said, “We are raising the bar in economic development, and it is nice to see another in the long line of new businesses in Vermilion. We are at 29 so far this year, and competition is good for everyone.” “There are so many entrepreneurs stepping up opening new businesses in Vermilion. It is very exciting for our future,” added Economic Development Coordinator, Mary Lee Prior. Overall, community members and dignitaries enjoyed the opportunity to congratulate Heartland Insurance, and were delighted to share in visiting over coffee and cupcakes.
