The Vermilion Ukrainian Cultural Association hosted their 24th Annual Dance Festival at Lakeland College’s Alumni Theatre in Vermilion on April 12 - 14. The festival included hundreds of dances performed by many dancers from all across Alberta. These included the Vermilion Samotsvit dancers as well as members from well known clubs like the Shumka and Cheremosh clubs from Edmonton. A new item this year was hair-braiding offered all weekend as well as another vendor market on April 13, which was much enjoyed during the festival. There were also food trucks on site. “We were beyond thrilled to have everyone here this weekend! We would like to thank the community for their support, the participants and families who drove, adjudicator Garrett Nestorowich, the many volunteers, and most of all our sponsors. Without your assistance, it would not have been as easy as it was,” said Vermilion Ukrainian Cultural Association President, Morgan Wood.
