UFA Farmer’s Day

Approximately 500 people gathered to celebrate Farmer’s Day at Vermilion UFA on June 14. The barbeque event continues to grow each year, and patrons enjoyed hamburgers and homemade pie. The enthusiasm continued with live music by 4Up’s Lacey McCrae and Al McKelvie, as well as the Flat Land Beer Bandits. Local honey producers were on scene, and Scotiabank representatives volunteered to assist with the barbeque. Manager of Community Investment, Kim MacDonald said, “Farmer’s Day is a day that we celebrate agriculture! It’s about thanking members and customers for their efforts in farming and ranching, and providing an opportunity for the community to get together and celebrate agriculture.” Many enjoyed socializing over lunch, as well as the give-aways and door prizes.
