Dignitaries and community members gathered at Modern Edge Painting Ltd. in Vermilion as they held their Grand Opening on October 18. “It’s exciting; this is a great way to keep a strong business in our community and nice to have new entrepreneurs in Vermilion. The store also has a fresh new look,” said Mayor Caroline McAuley. Co-owner and sales consultant, Lisa Beveridge, said that she is thrilled to be a part of what is going on downtown. According to her, they hit the ground running and she was happy to have had previous experience ordering and mixing paint. She also pointed out that Benjamin Moore is part of a buying group, so they partnered up with designer Laramy Gibson from Studio Laric. Gibson and her husband, Eric Barr, operate the design, build, and styling company and are entering their 5th year of business. Having worked with Jamie painting in the past, she agreed that this opportunity offers a nice partnership. “I like seeing the finished product and I like seeing people happy with the product,” said Jamie Kochan, Red Seal Journeyman Painter.
