Rolling Into Fall Bowling

Striker Lanes in Vermilion is looking forward to getting underway for their fall bowling leagues this September.

“We established as Striker Lanes in 2004, but originally opened in 1963 as Vermilion Bowl,” said owner Kim Abrams. “Bowling is a great sport for anyone at any age (starting at three years old and up).”

To keep a great atmosphere, they strive to provide great customer service, and participants can enjoy their huge selection of music on the jukebox and the fact that they are fully licensed. They even have a party room for birthday parties or other special events.

“Some of our options this year are adult mixed leagues Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We have a ladies league on Tuesday afternoons. There is a club 55+ on Monday and Friday afternoons. We also have special needs Monday and Friday afternoons. Plus we have our youth league that runs Tuesdays after school for ages 3-19,” said Abrams.

They will also be hosting glow bowling every Friday and Saturday evening. Regular public bowling will take place Saturday and Sunday afternoons and at various times available during the week.

“Bowling is a great sport for all skill levels whether you just want to come and get in some socializing and meet new people; or if you are more competitive, we host cash tournaments and also competitive tournaments that you can advance to provincial and national tournaments. If you advance to national tournaments flights, hotels and bowling fees are all paid for by Bowl Alberta and Bowl Canada,” said Abrams.

All of their fall leagues beginning in September run until mid-April, so she said it is a great way for people to stay active through the winter months or as a way for them to just get out of the house and visit.
